Opening night 4/29/08

As usual our opening run on Karazhan came off with very few hitches; and we were able to bring in Hooshaw, Spyman, and Myraa to run the later parts of our instance. Talk to Hooshaw and Spyman about the difficulty the encountered; even with upped PVP gear there were problems with their ability to withstand the trash mobs in Karazhan.

We cleared as usual through to Chess Event; we downed Big Bad Wolf again at Opera, and got through Shade of Aran in one swipe although it was made more difficult after Curator when we were down to one tank. On Aran, when his elementals spawn at 40%, it is vital at that point to tank or dps down those adds to avoid losing members to the bolts from the elementals. Shade is tough enough without these guys, and they simply cannot be ignored.

I want to stump a bit for a druid to take lead on these runs; in cat form and prowling very few of the mobs are stealth detecting. We again suffered some unannounced pulls when folks ran ahead into instances; we suffered another wipe when a pet got loose, and in the dance hall near Moroes pulled three groups onto ourselves by surprise, but lived. Pets need to constantly be on passive to avoid problems like this; and AOE kept to a minimum. We learned last week that fears on undead inside Kara are a bad idea unless inside an enclosed area like Nightbane's terrace. Tactically these are all things to consider before the mob is pulled, and real tough to deal with afterwards.
